Most fans of major league baseball are used to seeing the virtual strike zone feature during televised games. Earlier this year, SportsMedia Technology Corp (SMT) filed a lawsuit against MLB Advanced Media, Major League Baseball’s interactive and analytics branch, alleging patent infringement, trade secret theft, and breach of contract in relation to this virtual technology.
SMT, seeks unspecified money damages and a ruling blocking MLB Advanced Media from using its patent. A copy of the original Complaint can be viewed here:
